Although she loves spending time with family and friends and visiting the beach each Summer, working out seems to come in at a close alternative. Over the years she's made many friends at the gym so she usually has no trouble finding a running partner or cycle-mate. She and her husband make health and fitness part of their lives. Here's why.
"There are so many benefits; feeling good, more energy, managing stress and everyday life issues better!"Lisa is pretty self-motivated when it comes to getting her workouts in each week. She claims, "If I am struggling to get moving, I just think about how great I will feel afterward." Aside from her feet pounding miles and miles on a treadmill or miles cycling through a one-hour Spin Class, she has ran in many organized 5K-10K races such as The Covered Bridge Run, Lake Guntersville's Wild Irish Run, and the UAB Scholarship Run. Race for the Cure and the Brenda Ladun's Conquer Cancer Run were extremely important to Lisa, having a close family member battling the disease now. She also ran the Mercedes 1/2 Marathon with her very best friend Cristy and can't wait to run in that again next February.
Keep up the good work Lisa! You inspire so many!
Lisa was nominated to be this month's Member Spotlight feature. Look for more Spotlights to shine your way soon.
